  四合书院诚邀您和您的孩子参与我们为期半天的“皮影戏工作坊”（孩子年龄7—11岁最佳）。在这个活动里，孩子们将会学习如何制作皮影人物以及表演皮影戏，以此激发想象力。我们将以一种简单易懂，欢乐有趣的方式来介绍皮影戏，努力为孩子们创造一次前所未有的独特学习经历。

 皮影戏是一种传统的娱乐表演形式，它通过皮影人物在幕布和光源之间的投影和透视进行表演。据史籍记载，皮影戏起源于公元前一世紀的汉代，现如今已经传播到许多国家，成為许多地方文化的一個組成部分。

 “皮影戏工作坊”于7月26日（周六）下午2点开始。制作皮影前有一段皮影戏的简短介绍。孩子们被分成2－3个人的小组，共同选择一个主题，编一则小故事。然后在一位资深的皮影手工艺者张老师的指导下，团队合作，利用提供的材料以及孩子们的想象力制作属于自己的皮影人物和场景。制作完之后，每个小组开始排练皮影戏。由孩子们改编的精彩的皮影戏将会在屏幕上演。生动的故事和表演能让孩子们的想象力随着戏中的人物而活跃。

 皮影戏是一种极具吸引力的艺术形式。工作坊帮助孩子们探索想象力，对父母和孩子来说，灯光的投影和透视让整个制作和表演的过程成为一次难忘的经历。

 我们的工作人员会在整个过程中照顾好您的孩子。家长们会被邀请来观看最后的表演也可以陪同孩子参与皮影的制作。孩子们的晚餐包括在票价内,也欢迎家长在此一同享用晚餐（150元／人）。

备注：

1. 为了保证每个孩子都有充分参与的机会，我们会把参与此次皮影戏工作坊的孩子人数控制在15人以内，以便大家都有与张老师充分交流的机会。

2. 每个孩子自己做的皮影戏都可以带走。

3. 我们也会准备几份小礼物，以鼓励孩子们在手工艺、创造力、表演想象力和合作精神方面表现出来的卓越能力。

4.课程语言为中、英双语（主讲老师讲中文，有英语翻译）。

  The Courtyard Institute invites 15 children(approx. 7 – 11 years of age) to join our half-day “Shadow Puppetry Workshop”.The Children will learn how to make shadow puppets and explore their imagination. Shadow puppetry is introduced to the children in an accessible and fun way, creating a unique learning experience.

  Shadow puppetry is an ancient form of storytelling and entertainment, which uses thin cutout figures that are held between asource of light and a translucent screen. It originated in the Han Dynasty about 100 B.C. and to this date has spread to many countries and cultures.

  The workshop starts at 2pm with a short introduction into shadow puppet performance. Based on a chosen story/theme and under the guidance of Zhang Laoshi, a shadow puppet master, the participants work with paper, scissors, colors, decoration materials and their imaginations,to create their own puppets and scenery. The participants are divided into small performance groups of 2-3 and get to rehearse their story together. After dinner the performances begin. A magical transformation of the children’s worktakes place in front of the screen. Narration, movement and music let the children's imagination in the form of their cutouts come to life.

  Shadow puppetry is a highly engaging art form. The workshop let’s the children explore their imagination and play with light,shadows and perspective, creating a memorable experience in the process for participant and parent.

  Our staff will care for the children during the entire workshop. Parents are invited to attend the final performances but also have the option to come and stay for the workshop. Dinner will be provided for all participants.

Venue:Courtyard Institute (No.28 Zhonglao Hutong, Dongcheng District.)

Workshop fee (including dinner): RMB450 per person

Dinner only (for parents): RMB150 per person

Notes:

1. For hands-on workshop, we would like to keep the total number of children to no more than 15, so everyone will have enough time to interact with Teacher Zhang.

2. Children will be able to keep the shadow puppet they make as a souvenir.

3. An award and a small gift will be granted based on the merits of their craftsmanship, imagination, performances and teamwork spirit.

4. This is a bilingual workshop, the master will teach in Chinese, and we will help with English translation.
